A father holds the bike so steady as you ride of into the wind. He never let's go until your
ready and is there when knees are skinned.
A father's there when you are troubled about what's just outside the light,
he holds you until your dreaming through the worst of scary nights.
A father knows when to be gentle and when his strength needs to kick in
He'll lend his feet to dance on and forever holds your heart within.
A father, daily faces struggles, some so massive, he can hardly find the room to breathe but
he faces them with God by his side, head held high, and he never leaves.

Not religious, but do voice my relationship with god out loud. I think everyone has a right to
their own opinion and i'm not one to beat someone over the head with the bible, cause
believe me when I say I'm not perfect. Thanks for your replies. It's the dad I always
imagined to have and the kind of dad my kids do have.
There's a lot of common ground to be found where fathers / fatherhood is involved.
Some of the greatest connections are not only fathers and kids, but fathers and fathers, in a culture that seems to demonize fatherhood and fathers every other minute.
So I really appreciate your writing about this.
